What you are feasting your eyes on here is photos of the actual Atomic County comic prop used during The O.C. filming. This rare and one of a kind Atomic County prop comic book was custom-made by the O.C. production team for use in various episodes of the series.

This specific version is the "hero" version, as it features special printed inner pages and extra fine details not given on non-close-up versions. There were several copies made but this is the special copy that was actually seen up-close and held by actors of the show. Exact measurements of this rare O.C. prop are 10" x 6.75".

Notice that only the first few pages contains Atomic County art, the rest was filled with some other comic to give it thickness (that way it appears to be real). Note: The full version of this comic can be viewed if you buy the special edition DVD box set (there is a special booklet inside).

This O.C. comic prop was up for auction in March 2015 on (a now defunct prop auction site) - starting bid was $300 dollars and was never actually sold to our knowledge. Who knows where it's sitting now! Notice how it says on the front cover that its illustrated by Seth Cohen but on this above page (to the bottom right) it says Eric Wight. Eric Wight was the real artist that came up with all the artwork for Atomic County as well as the sketches Seth would be seen sketching. Want an Atomic County of your very own? Follow the instructions here to DIY print it yourself! You're welcome. As a thanks don't forget to hit us up on our social networks and tag us and show it off to the rest of the world!

The O.C. Merchandise: The O.C. Perfume and Cologne!

Did you know that The O.C. once had an officially licensed line of perfume and cologne? Yes - it's very true it was called "OC for Him" and OC for Her"..Pretty lame names considering they could have easily been called Angsty Atwood and Bender Barbie but we digress. The great news though is that the cologne and perfume can still be found readily affordable online - search eBay, Amazon etc..

Legend has it that the pool house smelled just like the "OC for Him" scent - but we may never really know! We've recently sampled the cologne and we give it a solid 2 thumbs up! Interested in reading more about it? Check out this previously written article here for a deeper dive on the cologne!
