Announcements: And the Chrismukkah giveaway winner is....

Thanks to everyone that entered into our Chrismukkah giveaway! We really enjoyed reading so many great stories, the effort you guys put into it was fantastic! One major thing stuck out while reading through the submissions - this was that everyone really found safety and companionship in watching The O.C..Another interesting theme was that many of you had preconceived notions about the show being lame but then once you started watching you were absolutely hooked!

We also learned that you guys/gals watch the series religiously (every year or more) and feel like the characters in The O.C. are practically your own family too. That's exactly what makes The O.C. special compared to a lot of other shows out there, its just a very comforting and nostalgic show to watch! The O.C. captures a certain magic that no other show to date has and we think that's why new and old fans keep loving the show year after year.

But enough of all that! Now to the good stuff! We have chosen a winner of our Chrismukkah contest! Captain oats stampede drum roll please..*horse sound*..

The winner is The UBER, SUPER O.C. fan - (quite possibly the biggest O.C. fan ever) named Kameron from Seattle, Washington! We were really moved by his fan story, his upbringing really resembled Ryan's! Great job Kameron! Read his fantastic submission below to see what we mean!

Here is Kameron and his cat

Dear Everything The O.C.

I discovered The O.C. when it premiered back in August 2003 the summer before 10th grade. I’ve been a diehard fan ever since. At the time I discovered the show I was a 15 year old boy who had just spent his freshman year of high school getting his ass kicked at military school in Carlsbad, CA. Then my sophomore year I got to come back home to Seattle, WA but the stipulations for my return were I had to go to a private Lutheran High School, and I had to play a sport. Going from a real hostile environment like military school to a Private Lutheran High School was a bit of a culture shock. I felt a lot like Ryan moving from Chino to The O.C. so the show just really resonated with me. I was a bit of an outsider, even did a few days in juvie for a crime I didn’t commit, (LONG STORY, No you’re being defensive!😂). I took the case to trial and was found not guilty. Even though I didn’t have a Sandy Cohen for a lawyer though it all worked out lol. I connected with the show on such a personal level cause it was such a compelling fish out of water story. I didn’t feel I was a bad kid but coming from military school to a private Lutheran high school I certainly was treated like one at times. Also I was kind of a troublemaker but any fights I got in were mostly self defense, except for those ones that weren’t (Ok so I was kind of a resentful, ill tempered young man ðŸ˜‚). But it was nice watching this show and viewing this character just struggling to be a normal teenager under trying circumstances with family and school and having to navigate through it all and hold it all together.

Kameron is quite the O.C. trivia king!

The show just really hit home for me. Also I love the music, the characters, the chracter development, really everything, I’m what you would call an obsessed fan. I listen to podcasts about it, I do a re-watch about once a year but I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve seen the series all the way through. I’ve included a few pics, one is of this trivia game I used to play and I would only play The O.C and was the best in the U.S. for a little bit.
How cool is that!!

Also included a hilarious pic of an art piece my fiancé had commissioned of me, Seth and Ryan! Thank you for the consideration!

Merry Chrismukkah!

The O.C. Hoildays: The Countdown to New Years!

By this time lets face it we all had our solid fill of holidays in the past months, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Chrismukkah - lots of food, gifts and fun but forget all that because today is New Years Eve. The final climax of the year - the grand bon-voyage saying bye to the old and hello to the new.

Whether it was a good year or a bad one for you its good to stay positive and think about the great things that did go right this year. Some of you may have started a new hobby or a new job - some may have dropped a relationship - and for others found their soulmate, funny how life works out.

Regardless of your achievements we must ask you the same question our favorite character Oliver asks Marissa in "The Countdown": What is that new years resolution you won't keep? And also which new years solution are you going to keep? Hit us up on Twitter for your answers! :) Cheers and Happy New Years OC'ers! We thank you and look forward to what comes into play in 2018! Stay tuned!

We'll leave you with this epic ending scene from "The Countdown"

The O.C. Holidays: Seth's OC Chrismukkah Sweater!

Merry Chrismukkah eve everyone! As we soon wrap up this holiday season we wanted to share yet another awesome holiday inspired OC musing.

A very close replica to Seth's season one Chrismukkah sweater has been found. Although not entirely exactly the same - it is the closest design yet. The main difference is the spacing of the deer on Seth's version.

This particular replica is made by a company called "Steep Slopes" and we believe it to be from around the 1980's. If you search Ebay under the term "Steep Slopes sweater" you should be able to find one if you're lucky!

Fun fact: The sweater that Seth wears in season 1's Chrismukkah episode was actually given to Seth by the writer/creator of the show Josh Schwartz! It came from his personal collection! You may be thinking oh man Seth had to wear an old guys sweater but in fact Josh and Seth were very close in age.

Now scour the web and try to find this replica for yourself! With that being said we hope you have a very merry Chrismukkah and it is filled with great laughs, good family/friends, so much food you almost pass out and a whole lot of awesome gifts!

The O.C. Holidays: Happy 4th of July!

Some background music for the scene :)

It's Tuesday morning at the Cohen residence. Ryan and Seth are in the kitchen reading comic books and drinking coffee as usual..just enjoying their summer vacation.

Sandy, in an excited sweat strolls in with a giant box that he appears can barely lift. Ryan and Seth look up immediately intrigued.

Sandy: What's inside this box is going to blow your minds boys...well, literally!
*Seth in a sarcastic tone*
Seth: Please tell me you bought up all the fidget spinners in Orange County?
*Ryan sips his coffee*
Ryan: If only we were that lucky..
Sandy: Guess again and no son that would mean people around here would actually have to entertain their own kids. Plus they'd rather like to think their kids are special and have A.D.D.
Seth: Good point padre..I can't believe you guys thought I once had ADHD..
Ryan: Well it is 4th of July...and...
*Before Ryan is able to finish his rare full sentence Kirsten walks into the kitchen in perfect timing  opens the refrigerator*
Kirsten: What's in the giant box Sandy?
Sandy: I was just playing a little game with the boys..a classic game of guess what's inside the box..
Seth: Dad I feel like your trying to be Bob Barker on the Price is Right...
*Sandy laughs*
Sandy: Oh how I miss The Bob Barker and that little Yoddler game..Don't get me started how I almost got on that show boys..New host sucks!
Seth: Really?! You almost met The Bob?
*Ryan getting annoyed*
Ryan: So what's in the box??
Kirsten: Yes what is in the box hunny?
Sandy: Alright guys...it's The 4th of July so I traded an old surfboard on Craigslist for a whole tub of bottle rockets!
Seth: Wow that is very minty of you!
Kirsten: Oh that should be fun..
Sandy: Well I thought to myself what's more American than lighting up burning rockets up in the sky to watch them explode! It's our freedom, we'll shoot em off in the backyard!
Seth: President Trump wouldn't have wanted it any other way!
Sandy: Gotta love the guy, what he lacks in intelligence he sure makes up for in patriotism!
*Seth and Ryan cheers their coffee mugs and the scene closes*

HAPPY 4th of July! Let freedom ring!
