Obscure O.C. Trivia: What's on Ryan's Shirt?
In season 1 episode 22 "The L.A." Ryan and Seth go to the ever so classy Mermaid Inn to retrieve Ryan's beloved watch he left in Theresa's 79 dollar room. The cleaning lady must really be an honest gal let me tell ya, perhaps they should have asked her if shes seen Rosa lately too. Anyways they walk into the hotel office, talk to an older gentleman preach about how lucky Ryan is to have a girl like Theresa and proceed to walk out with Ryan's watch.
As they walk out I couldn't help but notice Ryan's shirt. Now the details of it are hard to read at first but when Ryan turns around the back to see a glimpse of Luke coming out of Julie Coopers room his shirt reads "B&B Supply Long Beach, Ca Industrial - Contractor - Maintenance - Supplies bandbsupply.net".
Out of obscure curiosity I went to that website and low and behold its a real company/business located in Long Beach. Now don't get me wrong, the website looks like it was designed before Ryan was a baby but its completely legit.
The ironic thing is that the "Mermaid Hotel" was/is located in Long Beach which makes me wonder if this was some really strange advertising campaign that B&B Supply had going? I mean it makes sense Ryan did have a construction job.
Or perhaps they were the company that installed the Mermaid prop on top of the "Mermaid Hotel" in any case this is an Everything The O.C. exclusive! Challenge your friends with this bit of knowledge..and they say they're O.C. fans..sigh...California........here....we...come!!

The O.C. in the News: 2004 Teen Choice Awards!
On August 8th, 2004 the Fox Teen Choice Awards were held (as they are every year). The 2004 show was hosted by no-other than original 00's reality socialites Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie. Why is this an important O.C. moment in time you ask? Well its because it was in this year that The O.C. was awarded Best TV Drama! Adam Brody, Benjamin Mckenzie, Melinda Clarke, Peter Gallagher, Rachel Bilson, Josh Schwartz, Micha Barton, Kelly Rowan, Alan Dale and Tate Donovan were there that night. It would be nearly impossible to get the same group of people in the same room today!
As you can see above a surfboard was awarded to the entire cast and crew! What do you think guys? Should Sandy surf the Newport Beach waves on that baby or what?! I can see it now,
"Cowabunga honey!"
Fun Fact: Paris Hilton made an appearance in the season 1 episode episode 22 "The L.A."

The O.C. in the News: Young Sandy Meets Older Sandy in New Girl!
A super cool mini O.C. reunion is happening, sort of! Before I get to that there was a scene in season 4 episode 13 of The O.C. called "The Case of the Franks". In this episode we went back to 1984 to see a glimpse of a young Sandy Cohen and Kirsten Cohen and the magic moment of how the two met!
The actor that plays the young Sandy Cohen in this scene is Max Greenfield.
Max Green currently plays the character Schmidt in the hit TV show New Girl.
Now to the exciting news! The two collide in tonight's episode of New Girl. Peter Gallagher aka Sandy Cohen plays Schmidt's father! How cool is that?! The two look a lot alike! So essentially older and wiser Sandy Cohen goes back in time to let his younger self know to brace the roof of the Cohen mansion a little better, thus never having to move away from Newport! A Back to the Future-esque moment! Whatever the case, soak it in! Watch, set your TiVo or record via your grandm'as VCR tonight's episode and see a super obscure mini O.C. reunion happen before your eyes! A pre-Chrismukkah miracle!

The O.C. Fan Fiction: Apple does fall far from the tree
Meanwhile in the Cohen kitchen: a rare moment Sandy and Seth are both home while Kirsten and Ryan go drop off clothes at the women's shelter...Not much is going on and its rather silent, the two are just not used to hanging out together.
Seth: Ugh. I don't know why i'm asking you but what do you think about the new IPhone announcement today?
Sandy: Its shtick, a smaller phone and still only 16 jiga bits of space? Galaxy 7 for the win son!
Seth: Its gigabytes dad GIGA-Bytes.
Sandy: I'm just saying, it has a lot to offer. Kinda like your mother.
Seth: Okay i'm going to pretend I never heard that. Bye.

The O.C. Memerabilia: 2nd Annual O.C Chrismukkah Party Ornament
Here we have a very rare ornament from the 2nd Annual O.C. Chrismukkah Party! These cool collectible ornaments were handed out to all that were lucky enough to attend, cast/crew from the show, an invitation of sorts. The party was ironically before the release of season two's annual Christmas episode "The Chrismukkah That Almost Wasn't" which didn't air until December 16th 2004.

Behind the Scenes: Secrets of the Pool House
The pool house that we saw in the pilot episode was actually built onto the backyard of 6210 Ocean Breeze Drive in Malibu. This home was on the same street as the real Cohen house exterior we see in almost every episode. After filming the pool house was taken down and was rebuilt in the Raleigh Studios along with the rest of the Cohen house etc..The creators loved everything interior wise about 6210 Ocean Breeze Drive but they didn't like that the house wasn't a two story, that's why they ended up choosing 6205 Ocean Breeze Drive for the exterior shots. As a bonus pro-tip 6210 Ocean Breeze Drive was also the location where Seth Cohen's room was filmed during the pilot.
As you see in the GIF above, the pool house was added as well as the cement wall behind the grill area. The rest looks like it was there for the most part.
This is the front exterior shot of the 6210 house which the interiors and backyard area was inspired from.
In this real estate photo above is where the pool house once sat. As you will also notice this portion of the house resembles very closely to what the backyard studio version of the Cohen house looked like, albeit much narrower.
As you can see from the photo the red outlined areas were the sections that the creators ended up keeping and rebuilding in studio. The red outlined pool area was where the temporary pool house sat. As you may also notice the stairs walking up to the pool area are missing, the stairs were added in the studio version of the house to raise the elevation of the house so that you can see the ocean backdrop while filming inside the home (strictly technical add-on).
Here is an angle of the opposite side of the real pilot location. The pool house featured 5 sets of double doors, 4 windows, kitchen and bathroom, same as the studio version.
Here is a super rare exclusive photo of the studio version of the pool house area that was built inside the Raleigh Studios and seen after the pilot episode. Looking at the features of the structure makes me believe that it is literally the same pool house building that was built on location. After the pilot was shot, the pieces were stored until the show got picked up, then it was rebuilt inside Raleigh Studios. Notice the cool ocean backdrop. More on the backdrop here!
The pool house was clever, not only was it cool but it gave Ryan privacy and it allowed him to feel fully spoiled to bask in his new found richness. A place all to himself to get away from the crappy Chino life he once knew. Heck the place even has a maid, he truly had it made!
!UPDATE! *SAD NEWS*
The 6210 Ocean Breeze Drive home has been completely destroyed in a recent Malibu Woolsey fire. Details on that here.
